You will soon have the chance to meet with your reader for the first time!
In order to be prepared for this you will need:

BE EARLY!! Please meet at the Bloomington Cultural Center before 5:30pm so that you are ready to begin tutoring right at 5:30pm. Use this time to conduct the Burke Inventory, but also to get to know your student better. You will need this information for your case study, specifically when you need to discuss the student's background and history.
Parent Letter with all your contact information (your own information - typed and signed)
Burke Reading Interview form (from textbook - appendix)
A few of your own questions to ask the reader
A few books to have the student read aloud for you
Tape Recorder (fresh or charged batteries )

Some things to think about as you prepare to meet your student and prepare to conduct the RMI

How to put the student at ease before BRI
BRI - and additional questions
Reading Survey - what has been read?
Reading Conference - what excites you about reading?

Some more miscue marking practice for you:
